chastise
stillness echoes inside my heart
his brown sugared soul injects sorrow
and I keen inside to rise to greet him
ache says not now
he is appeased by sirens of old
ancient women who stir him
I look longingly on
I measure their beauty to my awkward
finding myself lacking
he wants a challenge
I am favored among the horde
but I am too tomboyish to be taken seriously as a seductress
he reaches to me and I pull back
my heart broken
hush child he chastises
why you are just a lass
I query how many eons, until I am a evolving soul
what has stint my growth
was it cruel fate, or did you desire a child
will you ever see me as woman
inside my tempest beats a vixen
with enough challenge to burn all the men down
will I never captivate your heart?
