A Dark Place

My love
I cannot find you
In this darkness
With this smell
I hear small drops plunging into a cavernous well

The air is thick here
Rocks run cold under my hand
I call your name
Feeling the way through this new land

Father death has not shown
It gives me hope
I hear a small moan

Close
Close

You are but you arent
Near
Then far each time
I run to you love
But I do not know this design

Fighting two beings
Both running
Both hiding
I look back at the way
To start rewinding

I can no longer take the thick air of this place
Fear maps the exit as I begin to suffocate
Haunting howls reverberate as I cover my face
The ground shakes yet I cannot hear the earth quake

Nestling to catch my breath, I close my eyes
Resting my head on the soft ground outside
My eyes protest the will to stare into the night,
I silently wish I could hold you and share the sight

For now I suppress the echoes of you pained
Rest to process the insight gained
On that powerful
Willful maze
Tomorrow
My love
More I will try to reclaim.
