blind eyes and stupid hearts
There's a loneliness in my bones
that you hang me with
every time you fall down
and expect me to bear
the toxic weight of you
that could choose to do
anything but flounder
in your self-made abyss
But it's easier to feed your demons
when sunrise is an eternity away
and saving yourself takes an effort
you can't muster when the darkness
whispers so sweetly
And I wonder
about my reasons
for entertaining your demons
when they were always destined
to wage war with my own
There's a loneliness in my bones
that you hang me with
every time you fall down
and I'm tired of being the one
to carry you through this dark
that you hang me with
every time you fall down
and expect me to bear
the toxic weight of you
that could choose to do
anything but flounder
in your self-made abyss
But it's easier to feed your demons
when sunrise is an eternity away
and saving yourself takes an effort
you can't muster when the darkness
whispers so sweetly
And I wonder
about my reasons
for entertaining your demons
when they were always destined
to wage war with my own
There's a loneliness in my bones
that you hang me with
every time you fall down
and I'm tired of being the one
to carry you through this dark
