Dear BK,
Wasn’t he the one put on a cross for helping? I think that’s where the phrase “no good deed goes unpunished” comes from. I really appreciated the message of this write.

I have thought of the above quote, cited by H...
"no good deed goes unpunished"...
I read an article in psychology today, which talked about how:
Whether you trust all or distrust all, you will still be disappointed an equal amount.
Essentially, you might as well just approach
each new relationship as a true, clean slate...
Because approaching it with biases, based on the past,
will not help...
As aforementioned, I have thought about it...
Sometimes you just want to be tyrannical with shit though...
I mean...
Sometimes, maybe most of the damn time...
One just cannot risk it...
I think that is why it is so hard to meet the counterpart of one's soul...
I mean, it could be the right person,
but think of how complex the timing is...
Like this crazy flower that blossoms at 420am
at the apex of the rhombus of a blue moon in the 33 degree...

Very well thought out and stated, Cipher.
All I can do is speak for myself here.
When one is at peace without a relationship and enjoys being by one's self the risk of losing my those qualities in a relationship is simply not worth the price.
hugs,
buddhakitty.

The deep resonance of this piece, is immense. Just a quick read of your comments, and that pain of betrayal is obvious and understood by so so many.
It's really difficult to come back from being burned at having your trust trampled upon. I think I'm a far better judge of character nowadays but every once in awhile I'm still surprised by someone who, in the end, was nothing like what they had originally portrayed themselves to be.To now say I'm cautious, is putting it mildly.
I am happy with being on my own, like you alluded to, so discovering that along my journey there are still those few who say one thing but do another is not anything that in this stage of my life I'll ever let hurt me or even allow to bring me down. I cultivate personal relationships very carefully, weeding out that element...
Loved this insight and sage wisdom, bk.

As Jung said, "once we removed our persona and get in touch with our shadow self, " then we are truly on our way to health and our true self andin that true self we are much more difficult to fool and no longer need others for validation.
Your kind words are much appreciated, my dear Blue.

Ah, to do a good deed and then be punished for it. Life can be a little complex that way.
