the sun
the Searchlight of God’s Presence
planet, comet, asteroid
and orbiting moons
around you sing tunes
for none can your pull avoid
centre of the solar world
your heat and your light
arrest us from plight
though by distance we are hurled
deep into the arms of space.
your helium rings
essential life brings
to sustain the human race
arbiter of day and night
let no one conspire
to play with your fire
till we're clothed in Heavenly Light
