puddling up
i listened
to the
applause
of rain
being pulled
from heaven,
like little
confessions
puddling up.

broken light
that early
morning
dawn was
breaking,
but still
felt well
enough
to take
a walk
with me.

i want
to use
her bones
like trees
and build
my house,
squares
of sky
will be
placed
into walls
for windows,
her earth
will help
protect
and cover
my roof,
and my
doors
will always
be open
for her.

bonfire (friends)
these late
nights,
chilled
with cold,
we built
a bonfire,
the rattle
and
pounding
of flames
and smoke
swimming,
their song
suffused
clearly,
filling the
worried
and tired
night.

Big Top Steam
A Big East Top Steam Whistle
The steam whistle goes off to sleep
No more coal left now we haul parcels and people places and then some
Want the steam whistle to echo through the valley
All I hear is a ghost whispering to me when I’m awake
So Kov bought it for scrap tryin to spin a buck
All he hears walking along great steel is
Ghostly voices coming from a steam engine from time before
They say here comes the Scrap Man
The butcher will tear us apart for profit
He says to them as long as I’m...

i pick my moment
i pick
my
moment
as the
day
climbs
into
my room,
singing in
my ear,
now,
my eyes
open, i
watch
those
blades
slice open
the
darkness,
and
whatever
scraps
are left,
get tossed
out by
daylight.

sea that sleeps in the blue
the sea takes and the sea brings
the sea is a castle that crumbles into sand
the sea keeps every fleeting moment
and gives belly to the sailor who lies
the sea is never wrong
the sea never has plans anyway
the sea covers and disappears at the pier
the sea breaking on the beach comes in peace
sounds its deep waves like jazz
the sea is serene and knows the good it does for us

Hallowed Firmament
When I describe in glowing terms
September skies that I've adored,
I thought them heavens, best explored,
with what an aspiration affirms...
betokened so by cirrus white,
so thin adrift among the blue,
mingling with the contrail spew
long after jets are out of sight.
These things define that vast expanse
over a leafy sunset gold
to contrast with autumnal cold...
enough to switch from shorts to pants.
Then watch the hummingbirds alight,
just for a moment, on a twig;
thin adrift in a sky so...

Starship Earth
What is it that we are doing here?
Bright eyes trembling with hopes and fear
Starship earth on an ever increasing trajectory
Seasons changing as we shout philosophy
Follow me inside
Our mind is free tonight
It's gonna be alright
As long as we see the night sky
Bright eyes trembling with hopes and fear
Starship earth on an ever increasing trajectory
Seasons changing as we shout philosophy
Follow me inside
Our mind is free tonight
It's gonna be alright
As long as we see the night sky

The third eye
The moon - a pearly bindi
with its mystical aura,
sits between the invisible eyes
of the skies;
It's the third eye
which opens a portal
to the soul of the heavens
connecting to the divine...

If Angel's Had Quills == A Spirit's Journal
*760 BCE**: Aboard the *Odyssey*, riding out a ferocious storm. The winds howl like the cries of old gods. I spot mermaids weaving through the frothy waves, their songs filled with longing. Odysseus grips the mast, defiant against nature's fury. Meanwhile, half the crew is experiencing seasickness like never before—it's hard to look heroic when you're clinging to a barrel for dear life.
**April 24, 1184 BCE**: I arrive late at Troy; the Greeks have already begun their invasion. They stumble from the wooden horse like newborn foals, tripping over their own swords. I can't help but...

Looking Up (2024)
cumulus, nimbus, stratus clouds too
move through the air enriching sky's blue
forever changing as they drift by,
when watching the heavens above where I lie -
in every season, in day and too night
above in the sky a magnificent sight
encircles the planet embracing the world -
all is in motion swirling and twirled
often in colours engaging, sublime
inner reflections that tantalize mind
in early morning and before night
when Moon is a ghostly galleon sight
always the best show in town
is up in the sky and is...
