One love turned into war

You always promised,
that you stand by me.

They say if you love someone to set them free,
but yet your still here,
haunting my memories.

Why won’t you,
please just let me rest my weary heart,
the one that’s still torn apart.

You’re moving on with your life,
while I’m feeling lost inside.

It isn’t fair how things ended,
We went through war and you’re not even winded.

You found someone new to love,
and my head is still spinning.

I’m done with the grief and doubt,
you had it easy when you got out.

A family to stand by me,
is something I haven’t seen.

But they supported your decision,
the one they sought out with precision,
and you let them.  

I honestly can’t say if you loved me or you didn’t,
but if it was a game,
then congratulations you win it.

There was a moment we were on the same side,
but something changed down the line.

I swear I would have died for you,
all I did was cry for you.

The darkness was darker each night.

Leave your enemies broken and defenseless,
isn’t that right?

Well mission accomplished,
that’s what you did.

Im so sick of it!

All the blood sweat and tears I’ve poured out,
but all you did was doubt,
it was real pain.

I understand how you feel,
I do.

That brings back memories doesn’t it?

You wanted me to marry you,
you asked me,
down on one knee.

My mother and sister in front of me.

They saw our love,
but it wasn’t enough.

I suppose that’s why it is so tough,
to forget about the loss.

“Do you feel it to?”

I’d like to know if it was true?

“No what am I saying?

Actions speak louder than words,
and words could change a life,
but no words proves the love wasn’t right.”
