Her Smile Reborn

Her Smile Reborn

“Same dreamy tenderness
That became love
Remembered through
A smile shared
With a stranger
As my sentimental secret”

Camellia petals for face
Whose lips find fruition
In lotus source

Plaid hip skirt ruffles
Girdle gothic nylons
Whose Stygian hue
Is the sign of a Hade’s refugee
Cast on an earthly shore

To form the warm embers of her smile
That smolders like soft stars
When Cassiopeia dreams in the sky

“Reminiscence of espresso steam
On wifely lips
With no need for gloss
To adorn the passion of her grin”

Author's Note
As so often happens I relive my late wife's smile through those of the baristas. Often the same tender dreaminess of my wife but seen in the barista's smile.
