The Quaking That Raised Everest

You cannot quell the fires of contempt
That latched to this bitter heart
When all that's seen is torn apart
A raving of livid thoughts impart

Hatred

Still no mortal man is truly evil
Only those who do impose
And on redeeming thoughts oppose
When weary souls are denied repose

Heartache

Your fellow brother is simply lost
Confused and searching at the altar
Where still his thoughts forever falter
Wondering if his hardened heart can alter

Redemption

Kinship extends it's loving hand
Opened eyes that now can see
A heart unchained that beats with glee
Transcending thoughts, finally set free

Peace

Author's Note
There was a time when a deep hatred was rooted within me. I don't know the cause, or maybe I do but I have suppressed it. Either way, I have moved passed it. Many people think of earthquakes as destructive, and they certainly can be. However, look at the mountains that fill you with wonder and reverence. They are a product of earthquakes. A rumbling that breaks apart and tears, but then builds up. The hatred and rumbling I felt are gone, and I now stand before myself in the form of a mountain.
