Gromalot, Grammelot

It's kind of peculiar
Being in a place
Where you know not
One single, solitary face

So you drift, and dream
Idling the hours away
As you pick up the vibe
You gromalot, for the rest of your stay

Talking gibberish
Anything will do
No-one will understand
A single, solitary word of it
Not even you!

Gramolot, oh grammelot
No Camelot, or Launcelot
Just incomprehensible nonsense
Of quite a lot

So as i sit here
Dreaming my dreams away
Thinking of all the nonsense
That i can possibly say
Idle thoughts, all in disarray

So i decide to count the monkey's
Perched upon my knees
As i wonder at the possibilities
Of catching a monkey disease

S o i begin eating bananas
And going oooh, oooh, oooh
As i dance the dance fandango
Imprisoned in this human zoo

I swing around the monkey cage
As i speak my nonsense loud
Hanging upside down in Hastings old town
I began to draw a crowd

I muttered, and gibbered my nonsense
To entertain the heaving throng
As they all looked at me in confusion
As i sang the Gramolot song

Author's Note
Grammelot is an imitation of language used in satirical theatre, an ad hoc gibberish that uses prosody along with macaronic and onomatopoeic elements to convey emotional and other meaning, and used in association with mime and mimicry. Wikipedia
