Watching Balls Drop
Every December 31st
I’m at home watching the ball drop
While people are celebrating, dancing and kissing
I’m under the covers intrigued with WAP
(Writing A Poem)
I was never much of a clubgoer or reveler
I’ve always been a homebody
Perhaps I should make it a goal to visit Time Square
Freeze my ass off for bit, live a little and party
I like being at home remembering the old days
When fireworks and music would fill the night
But that was the old country and now in it’s place
Is being cozy in bed snacking and drinking a Sprite
So to you all party people, revelers and merrymakers
Dance the night away, laugh, kiss and cheer
I’ll be enjoying my Asian fusion dinner at home
Watching fireworks and balls drop like I do every year
