in an instant

 
inside the fear I gasp
I beg to be released from this terror
long shadowy days
the beauty of the brightness
the garden shaded over with violence

calm is disrupted in an instant
with little time to think you have to use your instincts
life happens in a moment and so does death
horror can fall upon your head anywhere at anytime
I prepare in my mind and I pray I will be safe

I don't like feeling this way so I block it out
all the things that could go wrong
and the dark scenarios a person can face

my anxiety peaks and I reel
fathomless pain will you free me from this dread?
urgent need I request the presence of the angels
to watch over my home
and guide my steps should the time for action arise

I seek the council of my Father
I need to know Father, is this wisdom?
