DARK INKANTATIOS [HEMISPHERE NINETEEN]
HEMISPHERE NINETEEN: Shadows of Flames
“Fire that's closest kept burns most of all.” — William Shakespeare. ...
(THE DE MOREL FAMILY STUDY)
Mariana de Morel stands, facing the orange flames in a stone fireplace, illustrious hair down to her waste, sultry.
A voice speaks from a hidden corner of the room.
“We have the necessary number of sacramental souls.”
Lost in thought, de Morel nods faintly.
“The crowning achievement of my family lineage.”

A courtesy knock on the door, the butler enters.
“Mam, I think you might want to take a look at the monitors.
The monitors show empty hallways and corridors.
Segment after segment of The Mansion, empty.
“This can’t be happening.” de Morel says, unable to remove her eyes from the monitor.
“Oh but it is.” The man says.
“I think we have someone accessing our power grid.” He continues.
