Liberation from Troy
Liberation from Troy
She guards the gate to the western sky
Where the fireball casts shadows
On the orchard of immortality
Where golden apples are kept
In the tree of eternal life
Protected by a fire-breathing dragon
That she rides over the azure waves
Of the boundless Oceanus sea
That rings the known world
When seeking a kind of freedom
That only flight can bring
But her sisters desert the garden
To watch the myth of wings unfold
And Heracles steals the fruit of knowledge
Given to Aphrodite
for her promise to put in his hands
Helen in a golden Trojan fleece
To be spirited by Argonauts
As a spoil of war
Whose beauty entices more than the apples
With the price for her loveliness
The fruition of a plot of trees
She guards the gate to the western sky
Where the fireball casts shadows
On the orchard of immortality
Where golden apples are kept
In the tree of eternal life
Protected by a fire-breathing dragon
That she rides over the azure waves
Of the boundless Oceanus sea
That rings the known world
When seeking a kind of freedom
That only flight can bring
But her sisters desert the garden
To watch the myth of wings unfold
And Heracles steals the fruit of knowledge
Given to Aphrodite
for her promise to put in his hands
Helen in a golden Trojan fleece
To be spirited by Argonauts
As a spoil of war
Whose beauty entices more than the apples
With the price for her loveliness
The fruition of a plot of trees
