Say Boo to a Ghost

Well, Say
Bugger Off,
to be more precise.
 
I dislike the spooky and macabre,
spiritual mystery is more my preference,
- or comedy
a comforting brew given form.
 
There is already enough horror
and violence  
within the human soul
without an excuse to scream
because your life is all too safe and boring.
 
Cynically
the world keeps getting worse and worse;
so the ghosts and goblins
are becoming parody and panto
amongst a backdrop of true horror;
how to lose your humanity and like it.
 
So if the situation arises
I am more than likely to
Say Boo to a Ghost,
Or if bold enough
and the spirit malicious
simply
Bugger Off.
 
The fish within me scorns how shallow you wade.
