Re. a dew development (haiku)
Your evocation of the tears of the night shed coats my heart with sacred drops of hope. You said so incredibly much in this small space. It is a ball of energy that touches my being with sacred power that dazzles with the dream of hope. I loved immersing myself in your inner sea held in this dewdrop. There is faith enough to move mountains in your iridescent micro-universe of wisdom.

Re: Re. a dew development (haiku)
I too, think haiku, senryú are on a whole other level of poetic appreciation. There's something about being able to capture the brevity of a given emotional space within such minimal confines that really is much harder than it might seem and which fully entices and thrills me. I absolutely LOVE trying to find those "perfect" 17 syllables.... I have practiced and practiced, so your comments hold special meaning and tremendous weight with me.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts ... it's a kindness, one sincerely I'm grateful for.

Re: Re. a dew development (haiku)
Thank you so much, Tim.
I'm totally thrilled you think so and adore that you've stopped in to leave that thought.
It's moving and profoundly meaningful to me on many levels.
Haiku/senryú have been a style of poetry that I very much enjoyed and revered after falling in love with the intensity and enormous impact that such a little poetic vehicle could have.
I was so so awful at writing them when I started my journey here on DUP but decided that I wanted to learn or at least TRY to get better; so I practiced and practiced them. There is a valuable lesson in understanding that certain things shouldn't just flow instantly like collecting rain. Plus, the purposeful structure and history of the format lends itself perfectly to the ethos of practice, along with lessons of trial and error.
Since educated myself I feel I've (hopefully) come a long long way; hidden the worst of those early haiku/senryú but kept them for my own eyes. The rereading of one's beginnings is essential in keeping perspective I think! As is reminding myself that writing is in large part, (sort of) about the documenting of one's own learning and the stumbling along the way, called growth...
My attachment to this format almost personifies my time on DUP and that's the biggest part as to why comments like yours, though tiny, affect me so very much.
Again, thank you, dear poet.
(sorry to drone on!)

Her tears part of the life-blood hydration cycle. Providing moisture for future growth and sustaining life. Tears not of sadness but joy as they provide hope.
Eloquently depicted by your haiku.
Dew (moist) a prelude to “more things to come”.

With a contribution of this calibre, I think a new category of award should be introduced, but as no feedback is proffered and the lack of awards, apart from the joy composition the incentive to post a drawback. Respectfully my take in public post

A little hope goes a long way and so does a most needed haiku in today's society and current climate.
Love the word sacred, that for me, really added something special to your poem.
And speaks volumes in your capacity as a writer.
Thanks for sharing BlueVelvete and enjoyed very much.

Senryú and haiku are total favorites for me. I fell in love with the ability to take 17 syllables and to try to make something uniquely meaningful and gut punch worthy!
That brevity within the minimalistic constraint, is a total euphoric high for me... If captured!
Thanks for picking up on a bit of found worth, here. Your feedback hits a good nerve and means a lot, because I've really spent time trying to up my game within this format.
You're a good guy and an excellent source of motivational morale!
Much obliged, Shaun... much obliged!

Each to their own and I must admit I'm not really a fan.
But, I can spot a duffer anyday.
I know the process and all that and I am a big fan of less is more especially in thyme, stripped down, bare bones, cut the chase, no long winded arty farty pretentious poetry bullshit and all that.
But for me ancient Japan has a lot to answer for...
By Shinto's old bones
Japan's ghosts haunt the Welshie
Until he sees sense
Guess I was asking for that one.
Still respect for writing it and writing it so well.
And for me one word, just one unique word in a poem, albeit haiku can tip the balance in favour of,
Yes, I enjoyed reading that.

I understand the meaning of hope in people lives. It provides determination to go on, move forward, but for myself, hope is like walking alongside a foggy, foggy river bank where one can easily lose their footing and before they know it they are in over their heads ( this is my age talking I guess).

Re: Re. a dew development (haiku)
I can see that outlook and relate to your perspective, bk. Sometimes, what life has taught us is exactly that... What you said, to be aware of yourself and your surroundings so that you're not knocked off kilter by the sometimes boomerang effects that having too much hope can smack you down with.
Your thoughts remind me of several folks in my life, that I know would have that same personal inkling and attitude of potential worst case scenario.... I am often one of them, so no judgements whatsoever .. yet, my nature is also to be a glutton for punishment, I suppose, because I try and try.... haha...
You are masterful at getting my wheels to turn and affording me the killer opportunity of seeing things from your life's experience/perspective.
I can't tell you how much that means to me...
Glad you are here.... can't say it enough.

Awww, thanks!
Haiku and Senryú are some of my favorite forms of poetry, too! I try to write a few a month. I find them way more challenging because I hope that I can make them impactful, which is often hard for me to do with 17 syllables!... ☺
Glad you enjoyed! I very much appreciate you stopping by.
