PIT STOP
Whatever must be sacrificed
In order to obtain peace
I'd give it up as a vice
For a life with a new lease
I've ceased pleading my case
So often I'm misunderstood
No point in running a race
When the outcome's never good
Under the hood, there's no engine
The pistons are no longer firing
Grabbing a grenade without a pin
Something will soon be expiring
Wasn't desiring its demise
Yet, it's practically inevitable
My head will remain up high
As I refuse to feel miserable
In order to obtain peace
I'd give it up as a vice
For a life with a new lease
I've ceased pleading my case
So often I'm misunderstood
No point in running a race
When the outcome's never good
Under the hood, there's no engine
The pistons are no longer firing
Grabbing a grenade without a pin
Something will soon be expiring
Wasn't desiring its demise
Yet, it's practically inevitable
My head will remain up high
As I refuse to feel miserable
