Withered
Your touch so familiar
now different today...
Your knowing hands all
but have lost their way.
Lips once understood
my every desire...
No longer gift a
passionate fire.
Loving eyes which I have
read so many times...
Convey a different story
within their lines.
Your words which once
ignited my soul...
Now only attempt to
hurt and control.
Our hearts once shared
the same restless beat..
No longer in step,
no longer repeat.
A love once vibrant,
one so full of life...
Has all but ended
being strangled in strife.

I am sorry that you understand these words through your own experience . When love dies a slow death it kills us all the more inside.

This is hit home hard. My heart shattered reading through this piece. It seems like once you get comfortable in a relationship including marriage, trying is non existing. You did a wonderful job.
“A love once vibrant, one so full of life... Has all but ended being strangled in strife.” was the heaviest hit. 💜💜

Tough read
So many of yours are lust driven
But there is so much pathos when things hit the skids
Better days ahead Keith

Dear N,
Painful read. You really captured a waning love in a once vibrant relationship. How well I could relate. Alas. An excellent write, for a sad and difficult subject, I’ll be thinking about this for some time to come. H🌷

This is heartbreaking. I felt this in my soul, Keith. When love dies, it's just so very soul-destroying.
That being said, your words are always beautiful.

Hi, Keith
Sometimes we forget or acquiesce to the amount of work it takes from both parties to keep a long term relationship not only happy but joyously fruitful and something that's ever evolving into something deeper and more and more meaningful. This poem so aptly conveys the disappointment and sheer ache of knowing things are coming to an end. That pain is universal, although it definitely doesn't feel that way when you're struggling at that apex of anguish. You excellently evoke that immensely potent hurt, my friend.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your truths. I really love seeing this bittersweet beautiful side to your writing.... it's a wonderful and resonating pleasure.
Much love and healing energies ✨ 💫 ✨

good evening dearest Keith this write makes me sad...familiarity breeds contempt they say... we both have to be focused to keep love alive life will pull at you from both ends... fascinations away etc...loving one another through everything takes heart...I feel for your ache I wish it were easier but it's not... I've been married twenty five years and it's work sometimes but I'm grateful... hugs friend 💕
