Ice Palaces
The most painful times that I've watched passed me by
Has been me sitting helplessly and watching ice crystals fall from your eyes
You, my little pixie, my fairy, and my elven queen
The angels are being raped and tortured in heaven, or so it seems
Ice droplets dangling before plunging downward, fast and hard
Striking the depths of my heart, impaling me with slivers of frozen shards
You're the only one that could affect me in this way
Crawling in and out of my heart, but refusing to stay
I've watched you come and go, most times without tears
And I'll continue to watch, so have no fears
You know that the tears alone allows you to place our love on hold
I'm living in a cooler full of ice, but waiting on your really isn't that cold
Because when you return my world will heat up fast
I'm a sucker for the warmth even knowing that it wont last
With long brush strokes in front of the mirror, you look back with those soft brown eyes
With your neckline hanging low and your hemline riding up your thighs
You know that you're the captain of this vessel, as your hair showers your shoulders
With the wheel gripped firmly within both hands, I had to beg to let me hold her
As we lied there with her again crying on and chilling my chest
We must both face the fact that our relationship is a mess
But for now it's welcome back home and to my frigid bed
Welcome back to my heart and your eternal place within my head
As our bodies once again merge, I'm so happy at this attempt to reunite
Tomorrow my Ice Queen may be gone, but she's all mine here tonight
