Parabolic

I determined a long time ago I don't have to hate to find peace within myself
That my love for me can't be hinged upon anyone else
I really have to love me for me and trust myself from the onset
Is there a predetermined age that you should be able to choose love without regret

I met Love on multiple occasions and she never appears the same
She's a chameleon in disguise and she loves playing games
Without my knowledge she seeks me out
She likes whispering into my ears and putting words into my mouth

Things unbeknownest to me became the makings of my heart
But how could my heart know it's place when it couldn't remember our start
Love, loved this, she rode upon my air like a screeching banshee
Her fingers moving across the lyre of my heart, the maestro of me

Like a blues player playing, she really knew how to make me moan
Each and everytime, everything was so very obvious, but nothing was shown
Love had placed blinders upon a horse totally dedicated to the course
A willing participant to her games that didn't require force

There were things that she taught that only she could teach
That there were places called Heaven and Hell that only she could help me reach
She showed me the clouds and we soared among the stars
But then she took me down to the depths and I touched Hell's bars

Sparks started flashing as bright as when I touched Heaven's gates
Right there before my eyes my chameleon changed and my love chose to recalibrate
She teaches me to float in nothingness, to become at one with the dark
She taught me that to see it doesn't means it exist, and that she's my only spark
