Finding Space To Breathe
It’s pretty easy to be apathetic at times:
letting everything go so you can
breathe a little.
We’ll call it a balm: soothing
deep troubles that burn our souls.
You can linger for a moment: hollowed
out in the in-between spaces,
but don’t condemn the best parts
of yourself because you try like
hell to cover what you don’t love.

Such splendidly true words! It can be so easy for many people to lose sight of the things they adore, but it can also be very easy to lose sight of coming to terms with the things that one does not adore and accepting that you feel that way. There are countless facets to being a living being, to being in essence a person... the dark and the light are within us all, and each defines the other. Without the darkness of the night, the blue skies of the daytime would have nothing to be contrasted to. But people often feel that they have to like whichever one is the most popular at the time... me, I tend not to ever care about what the crowd is doing; I do my own thing, no matter who likes it or does not. The one thing in my whole life that I have never been able to be, is apathetic. I feel everything passionately and tend to say exactly what I think about matters. As such, people either love me or hate me since I tend to be a rather polarizing figure in peoples' lives. This poem kind of made me think of all of that, and of all those contrasts! Wise words written all throughout, too. A brilliant work indeed! :)

Sounds like a mantra, not many of us think about doing that and therefore lose composure at one time or another.
