Still Fighting
Sometimes I'm utterly amazed
That no matter how much things may change
They somehow stay the same
From time to time we’re thrown into conflict
Somewhere near, sometimes far
By whatever these circumstances are
It was a couple of years ago
When I heard Dolores passed away
I revisited many memories through the decades
And yet here we are again
At war, now even more blatant than ever before
Wondering how'd “we” let this happen

This slapped me between the eyes just now. Wow. It's true... no matter how much life, times and technology change, people are just people, and as such, will carry on repeating the same mistakes over and over. I wish we would learn from the past, but that seems to be optimistic at this point.

It's odd to listen to the Cranberries and hearing Dolores' voice, knowing that their protest songs meant so much for the times, and yet we're back at again in today.
I try to remain optimistic as well, hoping for the best while preparing for the worst.
