The Affirmation
the worst of these words
settling down deep, clawing
their way into my dying spirit
Enough
I am enough.
fearful constraints of imagination
clinging to my bedpost, gnawing
their way into my dimpled skin
Enough
I am enough.
bullied voices become bullies
cutting my thoughts, sawing
their way through my tired bones
Enough
I am enough.
lines of destruction, battles won
scratching my arms, drawing
their way across my scarred confidence
Enough
I am enough.
glorious rays of sunlight determined
reaching for my body, thawing
their way across my frostbound heart
Enough!
Enough!
Enough!
I AM ENOUGH.
settling down deep, clawing
their way into my dying spirit
Enough
I am enough.
fearful constraints of imagination
clinging to my bedpost, gnawing
their way into my dimpled skin
Enough
I am enough.
bullied voices become bullies
cutting my thoughts, sawing
their way through my tired bones
Enough
I am enough.
lines of destruction, battles won
scratching my arms, drawing
their way across my scarred confidence
Enough
I am enough.
glorious rays of sunlight determined
reaching for my body, thawing
their way across my frostbound heart
Enough!
Enough!
Enough!
I AM ENOUGH.
