The Show Must Go On - Part 2
Home for lunch
father checks
TV’s temperature.
“Who’s been watching?
The box is warm”
Risking, at the very least,
stern, impassioned lecture
I plead guilty
to the cord swapping caper.
Instead of penalty
or vitriolic scorn,
thinking my solution clever
father smiled, with laughter shook
The TV blocking game’s afoot.
Removing an integral vacuum tube,
was papa’s next move.
Underestimating television fanatics.
close study of the schematic,
glued to the back of the set,
revealed the tube that was absent
Relaying part number to our only valid driver
Big sister hopped into her Capri
and off to the store she went.
