A Series Of Concrete Thought Journals
[STREET LIFE]
In the ghetto streets
of Orange Grove
where the feet
of Jozi's
hungry drove
carts of plastic
and paper sheet
dwelt a spell binding
prison,
in tunnels
unwinding
sending convoys
collecting and betting
on paper, plastics,
and other recycling
[ULCER]
in trying to make
sense
of the stars
filling
intestines
and mental
notes
while chaos
aches in
orbits
breathing
in the marrow
of worn bones
embracing
the insanity
laid out
over
destruction
paved
bare
[WIRES]
in the pain
serving
nervous minds
lives
a future
where
the mess
is just a stroke
of luck
that everyone
wonders
"how it was
put
there"?
[SURVIVAL]
Where the strength
of a man's feet is daunting
a wage is exchanged
in the cold haunting
of a matress with no sheet
while his wife splits the loot
with the neighbourhood groot
in exchange for some food
and the address of their next
Robin Hood
[FAMINE]
Once upon a dark day
earth took a tumble
legislating no pay
the streets shut their noses
with masks and restrictions
(the Covid affliction)
causing work to be
illegal in city jurisdictions
the grumble
(the hunger rumble)
killing more
than half
the population of
the concrete jungle
[RUSH IN & PUT IN]
If Musk flavored
deodorant
doesn't destroy the moment
I'd expect to order
Russian Vodka
from an alien
named Monica
at the opening night
of the first ever
Mars Bar
(This might have gone to far!)
