Reach for the Stars

There are a lot of talented people out there
Tugging on your heart strings
Who no matter how good they sing
They'll never see what their talent brings

There are a lot of talented people out there
Who go through life like they're unaware
Who know but they don't care
And they're happy with the life they share

It takes practice, timing, and luck
And perseverance to get through the muck
It takes people who believe in you
it takes the will to see things through
Keep reaching for the stars

Who want to be something they're not
Who hate the talent they got

Author's Note

I listen to Angelina Jordan, age 15 at the time, sing a song she wrote about her grandfather's passing, called Million Miles, and I realize how little talent I have. I will continue to try though, after all, it's all I can do.
