Deep Dark
My lineage is gone
Staked and burned away
Swallowed whole by crusaders
Waiting in the shallows
Mortem, black roots
A whisper of songs I once sang
Inaudible in an empty tomb
Erosion, a detriment
Maybe I couldn’t see
The fate that awaits all men
Maybe you were right to never linger
There’s no recourse
Once sold, you cannot undo
Warnings from a specter that looms
I awoke in vacuum
Teased loss on my tongue
A funneling decay of familiar taste
Reinforced, heart bending
The darkest swell
A turning spiral of slaughter
Beckoning me across the lowlands
Where contrition resides
Maybe I couldn’t see
The fate that awaits all men
Maybe you were right to never linger
There’s no recourse
Once sold, you cannot undo
Warnings from a specter that looms
I crawled on bone
With broken feet and nails
To a hollow tree with crooked toes
And I touched lost souls
For I asked no quarter
And bargained my only worth
One soul ravaged by a holy misdeed
In return, I want satisfaction
For my mother
The shrouds of a legacy
Where my sisters used to roam
An eye for an eye
What I lost, they will know
Kill the spares and all who profited
Devour me whole
Not concerned if damned
Do this for me and I will dine in hell
Staked and burned away
Swallowed whole by crusaders
Waiting in the shallows
Mortem, black roots
A whisper of songs I once sang
Inaudible in an empty tomb
Erosion, a detriment
Maybe I couldn’t see
The fate that awaits all men
Maybe you were right to never linger
There’s no recourse
Once sold, you cannot undo
