An air of angst and ease— recycled
It's easy to breath
when you are gone
The air is crisp and clear
away, is the color
of emerald darkness
and unenviable congestion
Sunshine is at it's apex
perhaps in unspoken solidarity
truth is boldly placed
into the hands
of the wearied righteous
Feather-like,
is this air
It feels lighter
when you are gone
Sweet circulations
gusts, of those not yet born tomorrows
cooling wisps
blowing newfound freedom
inspire a midas hope
to adorn every sense
a golden sheen, glistening
upon every wind-kissed swirl
Poignantly sieving
all that was supposed
but never
was
and never
will
be.
Natural pressure ebbs
allowing lungs to expand
of leary recollection,
dreamscapes untouched, preserved
is how I feel that heartfelt, breathes
cleansing and superbly virile
this air
will truly be
effortless
when you stay gone
and when my soulful filtering
of
never missing you
scrubs
it all away
to.
breathe.
every.
relieved.
breath.
clean.

Sometimes letting go is the only thing to do. Self care demands it sometimes even if the heart aches with the separation

You're wise, with such sage insightfulness, Ron. I deeply appreciate those sentiments and wholeheartedly agree. There are times when we find ourselves @ a crossroads and hopefully we're smart enough and experienced enough to make the correct decisions to "right the ship" so to speak....

finding words
that highlight
a want of ardent thanks
is often difficult, at best
but know, dear
that I shroud you
in reverenced regard
warming each precious word
you bestow
'pon my chest
as to allow closeness (and hope) to
affect a sort of osmosis
profusing deep,
my affectionate heart

When abandonment becomes preferred, it loses its isolation and becomes insulation. That barrier becomes a barge. The little involved becomes a showcase of freedom.
Alone but never lonely....anymore.
Alone but never lonely....anymore.

Re: Re. An air of angst and ease— recycled
It's sometimes a long trek to understanding that being alone for the right reasons is far far better than being within someone for all the wrong.
Thank you for being here... 'a showcase of freedom', he says.... gotta love that!!
Signed –Alone (but sometimes lonely and that's ok) and coming to terms with it. lol.... 😉

As I get older - for the most part, yes.... Or maybe I just become less willing and more cautious? This poem was an amalgamation of a time, long ago and thoughts of today. A commingling of ideas making their way to the page...

and the pandemic certainly didn't /hasn't helped in that area of life...
You're so spot on, though... They do say youth is lost on the young.... You never (or rarely) realize in the moments, their profound essence.
I think time breeds the hindsight of too much pain, loss and regret... learning to shed some of that heaviness and throwing caution is paramount... for me, anyway.
You are a amazing sounding board, thank you. 🙇🏻♀️

It is ironically profound that we devote so much of our age to regarding youth as the prime of life whereas we flagrantly wasted most of that youthful energy, even in our acknowledging that youth is wasted on the young. Rather, I would have it that we use our experiences in youth to develop more effective ways to enjoy our age, not merely out of youthful ignorance but out of wise efficiency. Having less time but using it better, we may live more later in fact. Less stress. Less recovery time. Less regret, by making wiser decisions! The youth of age need not be wasted by comparing our caution to our previous wastefulness. We ain't dead yet.

So much to love with this one... the varied font... the indentation... your mastery of spacing... varied line length to govern line cadence... so much complexity displayed... in a creative simplicity... that so beguiles... always a pleasure B...

The heart struggles
For an eternity it seems
It fights, it rages, it bleeds, it cries
Peace it never knows
Staying for the sake of it
Afraid of the future
Afraid to take that step
The fight inside overshadows
The fight outside
The heart breaks a thousand times over
But, to stay will simply break it forever
Even after, after the earthquake, after the earth splits in two, ever after
What did I do, did I do right, did I do wrong
I do hope dear Blue, its not as hard for you.
Stay strong

Hey there, WM :)
It's my good fortune to have you visit, as well as having you read my poem; leaving me some very astute and generous remarks. You're correct, that sometimes we stay in certain relationship situations for all of the reasons that you have listed before me.... or maybe it's a small sense of being felt, seen or judged as a failure, that aching fear directing life decisions, instead of happiness, hope and grow that allow fear to reign?!? Either way, life is too short to be miserable, period!
This was an old and now long over, experience of mine but I still think the lessons learned are timeless and important. Thank you so much for being here, it really means so much.
Best wishes and warm regards

Wow. This is true poetry. The motivation you found to write it is powerful. One of your best, even.
"Emerald Darkness"... I've never read that combo before. I can see it. I love it. I'm thinking of stealing it. Lol.
This is quite good. Artistic in its descriptions and full of strength.

Steal away! I say. .... So long as someone doesn't steal my stuff as a whole, like an entire poem verbatim, I'm more than honored that I can inspire! Everything in nature steals from each other, you see it commented on all the time on any reputable nature show. Authors of books, painters, sculptors, actors and comedians all do likewise... I should be so lucky... lol... 😉
So in the event you do, I am already smiling ear to ear because of that awesome possibility.
I'm truly delighted that you enjoyed reading my little poem as much as you did... that's amazingly cool and empowering!
Thank you deeply for all the kindness and encouragement.
Much love, S

Dear BV,
If I could double RL this and then have it as my ring tone I totally would! Have you been wandering around in my head again? I told you it’s a calamitous danger zone in there. But you did manage to write an outstanding poem of courage, truth, wisdom and strength so I guess it all turned out okay. I really appreciated the strength in this poem. The realization that moving on from a toxic situation, even when love is involved, and difficult as it can be, is healthier and soooooo liberating. Wild round of applause and standing ovation. Fab write.

HONORIA!!
A total *high five*🙌🏻 to you!
Your tremendously supportive and intensely kind feedback has roused me with motivation and inspired energy to continue to be faithful to the value of my own truth and inner gut feelings. Sometimes it's difficult to be confident, especially when battling self doubt is a lifelong struggle. So your comments are definitely more to me than just high (and soo insanely awesome) praise that I am humbled and thankful for, they're a bit of fought for validation. Reminding me to stay standing strong 💪🏻, even when it might feel like you're at your weakest and most vulnerable.
I'm telling ya, those are some comments!!! 👍🏻 haha.
You're a beacon, dear lady.... it's true!

I think you're 100% correct, freeing and like taking a deep breath after being underwater... Although, it's something that might be gradual and not as impactful until hindsight plays a part... but freeing nonetheless!
Your comments and ongoing support are something that I cherish and hold so very dear.
My deepest thanks 🙏🏻

Pay you no mind of any other comments (for the sake of your own comment - I am grateful for them ALL no matter what) ..I appreciate and enjoy everyone's take on what they experience reading! It makes me a bit more excited to participate in this writing journey and a better writer in general.. plus, I deeply value and care about each lovely individual's thoughts. No matter what anyone else might repeat, say or not say...It's all informative and welcomed, just fyi!
Yeah, endings are never easy, even if they're amicable. The self fortitude to find renewal in freedom and aloneness is often trickier, imo... lol.
I do appreciate you visiting, Tim... your honesty is rare and I always welcome it.
Have a great Sunday!

''When you stay gone''............in big black script. Like there is the uncertainty....(the fear?) of the other person sticking around like a shadow? Not pleasant. I hope that this person disappears ''in thin air''. Kisses, Robert.

Good morning, R :)
It's more a way of boldly stating my own certainty—that there's absolutely no doubt they are history. That bold font is a bit of symbolism for fortitude, gumption and 'bug squashing' so to speak..hahahaha... This is all 90% fictional, but yes, that's what I imagined, or thought of, when writing this mostly fiction with a bit of reality sprinkled in, piece.
Your visits always leave me contemplative, for that a most sincere thanks, dear Robert!
Warm regards and Happy Holidays to you and yours ❄️

Talk about cleansing one's body and soul of toxicity, but amazingly written in the most poetical way.
Blue, I love how you described this process, healing and moving on without anger or hate, but rather a lesson that burned. It's beautiful and intriguing, mysterious and yet spiritual.
Bravo.
