Uncertainty
suddenly
you find yourself
on a step
on a ramp
that
seems interminable
you do not know
whether
to go up
or down
you do not even remember
there
the where
from which you arrived
it is precisely then
that
certainties become mirages
and axioms
become
insoluble enigmas

hi there dearest poet I know how frightening uncertainties can be
I feel that feeling everyday it seems
certainty is an illusion you're correct
everything can fall like a house of cards...
however we have to believe somehow there is reason or good I hope for events...
great write...

Yes.
We strive for security, the illusion that we cannot posess.
When we plan...
...the universe laughs.
Thank you.

Re. Uncertainty
This piece so aptly portrays that unmitigated feeling of it's title... Uncertainty... and how if it's not properly reconciled and battle tested, it can completely and utterly debilitate.... Such passionate and painful eloquence you struck here, KP.... It's that uncertain fear that can creep in and slowly erode away, if left to do so.
Truly relatable and poignant write...

unmitigated passionate eloquence poignant- great words.
(sorry meandering mind...)
For me, uncertainty exists in the past and the future, but if I can stay in the present moment, that is certain.
Thank you.

Reminds me of the process of looking at a MC Escher painting, especially the ending, which settles on the border of axiom--zero conditionals--and illusions.
In the beginning I feel like I'm in an old Talking Heads video or a song by Yes.
Enjoyed!

I had a poster of Escher's impossible staircase on my dorm room wall in college.
Yes and TH videos conjure memories of MTV, space shuttles and Justice O'Connor.
Oops dating myself.
Thank you.

I loved this piece and soooo many others that you've penned in recent days passed.... You're hands down, one of my favorite poets on DU...Just fyi.
Thank you for all the finely tuned , funny, sexy, erotic, dirty, eloquent and hotter than hot poems from the treasure trove of your mind and soul, KP.
It's been a fascinating and exciting pleasure.
