Path of Awakening

Path of Awakening

Sparks from a Jovian juniper
Are fireflies too hot to touch
When the forest if full of stars
On our tortoise trek in umber
Where we walk embers
Like Polynesians on live coals
But only the clovers to cushion our trail
Wet with tears born of a wood nymph
Whose sorrow is our path
Out of the toll of the bells
Into our own kind of grief
When a cup of mourning is enough
To fill the empty spaces
