the problem with honesty and the affects of treachery
There's something
to be said for pure
good old-fashioned
honesty
When you're up front
sincere in thought
and deed
crystal clear
in all that's recognized
as
your truth.
So—
To me,
treachery
is taking
that extremely
thoughtful
and hard explained
candidness—
and pissing
all over it.
Because
when someone says
"I like you"
be it friend
or a dreamed potential for more
(which really is rather nice)
flattering,
uncommonly adorable;
and should
be something that's
never to be taken for granted
especially when
that scarce bravery
extends to
..."but I would like to take
it slow and steady"...
specifically
to avoid confusion
~ mind you ~
having those words
not only agreed to
but
reinforced
and
agreed to
in earnest.
(supposedly)
... Well,
until they aren't ...
because of—
Does it matter?
Then
to me
that's
treachery—
so we're clear.

I had this piece hidden for awhile before I decided to publish.... I don't usually go for this kind of 'arrow strike' of a poem... but I finally decided, I wrote it, it should see the light of day.... so be it.

Treachery of leading on what is in reality unrequited courtship can be an emotional gauntlet. You put it clearly without ambiguity and to be heeded for everyone. Love your arrow strike here.

I learned the hard way that I need to be more careful about where I choose to invest my trust, which I thought was an already honed and attune skill... making it even more of a bitter pill.... live and learn, though.
