Lord, I can be actively writing, click over to the dictionary and by the time I get back over to the poem the entire idea is gone. It is the worst though, when you have a poem in your head and you aren't in a position to write it down. Little ghosty poems, haunting us and then vanishing. Bastards.

This happens to me all the time. I can't count the times when I've been struck by inspiration while busy and have forgotten the thought when I ho to write. And then there's dreams. My don actually sleeps with a pad next to his bed to record dreams. Brava, sweet S🌹

Those lost poems are the duds. Those are the ones making way for the gems that do make the paper.
(I don’t really know that) but why not? It’s lunacy though how many beginning ideas should morph into Pulitzer wins but evaporate in the blink of an eye. I don’t get it but then again I won’t remember writing this unless you kindly respond back 😁
Tomorrow is another opportunity for another brilliant write which will happen because that’s how you roll. (I’m certain of that.) even this is eloquent and it’s you telling me you got inspired on the toilet. Or was that the shower? Damn it. Now I have scroll 100 miles back to the top and reread.

Great Ars Poetica write ... captures the essence of writing poetry ... the creative process ... resonates so clearly ... I really hate it when themes appear when I am driving ... really like the physicality of the poem ... the big stanzas ... then the small closing ... visually pleasing ... as always ... great flow ... steady cadence ... good crisp line breaks ...

Ohhh!! The dreaded driving burst of inspiration! AND.. even if I talk to text to try and save a thought, it's a jumbled mess because talk to text captures about ever third word correctly.... hahaha.... Damn that almost worthy technology!!

You put down in words exactly my experience with inspiration. It comes and goes like the wind. Often if I am not at home I email myself my ideas because if I don't they will evanesce into nothingness. Your poetry here is amazing. The lyrical clarity speaks a poet's language. And the passion within those brilliant concepts is illustrated like lightning that strikes in a beautiful arc from the sky.

I think of something inspired when I sit down to capture it... *poof*.... lol... that's when I remember that sometimes the opposite works, too.... the poof comes at random.... at least the good ones do, in my experience... lol.
