I found the two kittens one day in our garage, two or three days old I guessed. Fed the mother who later deposited them at our back door and then disappeared. We found good homes for them both.

Dear J,
The irony of it all. I don’t exactly know why I’m feeling a bit out of sorts about the canonization of people who believe they didn’t fail. Yet, for the few that spring to my mind who are held in high esteem when I think they should be run out on a rail gets my dander up. Your poem is straight to the point and makes me think a lot. H🌷

Thank you again H. It's amazing how history picks out certain people and puts them on a pedestal, whilst certain other geniuses (often with a differing point of view) never get a fair hearing. Some time later these 'lost geniuses' may be (re)-discovered by a few but remain generally forever in obscurity - or misrepresented (such as Goethe and his amazing "holistic Science", which was buried in favour of Newton's Billiard-ball model of the universe), and people tend to think of Goethe as a poet, rather than a scientists. {mind you, 'poet' is pretty cool too 😊 }

Thank you RiAN for visiting and commenting. I guess the only records we can truly trust are the Akashic records.

Thank you A, it's a bit of a mind-bender; I kept looking at it myself too thinking 'what have I just said?' It's a bit like one of those 3-D drawings that you stare at and then suddenly see. Anyway, it was sparked by thinking of that late 1970s classic English text The Book of Heroic Failures which has always inspired me, celebrating the great failures of ordinary people. "It's not whether you win or lose but how you play the game" inculcated into me by my maternal grandmother. RL much appreciated.

History will tell it with more reflection and probably weep for some.
Insightful stuff Josh.

Too many great thinkers have been consigned to the dust-bin of history - and need their enthusiasts of a later generation to (re)-discover and promote them (Jean Gepser springs to mind. I find his 5 stages of human consciousness really interesting. It makes sense of the times we live in, as well as our own personal journeys)
