cherished, in lessons learned.
it's all about passion
seeing a spark
an inkling of like awareness
that burns your layers
until blood runs
leaving hearts to slowly break
in exquisite agony
isolating that
and with your soul
in an absolute
you
SCREAM
it
from the top of your lungs
you howl at the moon
you pound the drum
and you never,
ever
quit.

Ty, Jackie
I'm still almost speechless...
From the glorious high of yesterday's events to this gut punch of horrible news...
I'm thrown, that's for sure.
Ty for reading, the RL add and all your loveliness.
My bearings are all fucked up and the support is utterly welcomed.

I believe this is a poem inspired by David’s push and advice to keep you going! I take this as sort of a tribute to his Legacy♥️

Very much so. His passion was infectious and no holds barred...I love that. He spoke his truth with abandon. Not many people do and not many people understand those who do...
I didn't know him well, but I use his advice to this day.... and to me, that speaks volumes about his ability to impact someone's life positively...

Let me be clear, David was the most stubborn human being I ever met. He was hard and he was angry. He had a really hard life, but it shaped him for the better.
He also had the biggest heart I’ve ever met. His capacity to love was beautiful. He was fierce, protective, loyal — everything I aspire to be. In the end, he just wanted to find some peace after a lifetime of hardships.
I will miss him more than I can say. But glad he inspired so many others, and that he is no longer in pain.
Thank you xx

Re: Re. cherished, in lessons learned.
M,
It makes his loss a wee bit more palatable to try and wrap my head around, knowing that he's pain free and undoubtedly performing in some form or fashion, wherever he is....
I believe his enormous capacities of love and loyalty continue, in you, me and all that saw what you described. Honoring that, is how I hope to (begin) to reconcile.
(The stubbornness was epic!!... lol)
Thank you for your insightful comments.
My thoughts are with you and yours.

Ron,
Thank you for reading and your comments. I'm sure it's possible that you've probably come across David Macleod's poetry on site here before? If not, you should check out his poetry, it was brilliant
He was a member here for a long time... I didn't know him well, but well enough to be blindsided today. He impacted me and my thoughts about my lack of self confidence. I am extremely grateful for that.... I hope he knew.
Your sentiments were lovely - I'm appreciative

J,
Thank you for reading and I'm sending you all my hugs and support. Your understanding makes my heart ache for us both, tonight. My hope is for that ache to be lessened in the knowledge that I'm here for you and vice versa.
I'm appreciative of that and very lucky for your friendship.

I'm still in shock after hearing the news earlier today. David had a unique style of writing and his own brand of humor.
You did a wonderful tribute here Blue.

Dearest, Blue I am am so sad to read of David's death. He has left quite a poetic legacy. This passage so beautifully describes with what intimacy you came to David.

My lovely friend,
You're such a joyful light from within all the darkness I'm saddened as well, B. Trying to make sense out of the senseless, is futile.. yet today that's what I've found myself doing... Yesterday was shocking, and it still is. Your thoughts and bear hugs are much appreciated and utterly welcomed. I take small comfort that he's no longer in pain, and we have his poetry to be read as long as there's DU...
