Thank you, Kitts! Same with humans; we become spiritually dormant to grow.
Much love for the New Year.

Wonderful entry Ahavati. Your representation of nature is extraordinary. I know for some of us winter is not as harsh as it is for others, but rather it's part of the natural way of things.
Good luck in the comp.

The updated font offers a much crisper visual, while the previous left me somewhat victimized by my own color blindness.
Ohh! That final stanza! It literally smacks the reader upside the head from out of left field because the bulk of the poem was so focused on Winter bring an phenomena exterior to a person physically and mentally.
And yet, not really, because upon closer inspection, it begins with Winter as a mental projection or state of mind of sorts.

Thank you! And thank you for being honest with me about the fuzzy font as well. I thought it may be just my computer, being no one else mentioned it.

This poem reminds me of a scene in Saving Mr Banks where PL Travers says to a cab driver, "the rain brings life", during an exchange about staying out of the rain. The driver retorts that so does the sun and she tells him to be quiet, tho, which I'm sure you'd never do! This is a nice little zen piece. (I think I'm using "zen" correctly there!)

Thank you, Jack. Nope; the Universe provides wisdom from various sources, even children and animals. I never say 'Be quiet' to that.
I loved that movie! And the ending was so endearing.
Thank you. xo
