Blood of galaxies
So let's hold hands
Walk down the trail
To see the trees stretching high
Higher it seems than the sky
Piercing the heavens they go
If only we could follow
Your hand in mine
Your eyes and my eyes
Staring up as we do together
We will see the heavens drip
Down the branches that pierce it
Reaching out to taste the galaxies
The blood of heaven on our mouths
We've doomed ourselves
By simply knowing it's taste
Inescapable that knowledge
It's like knowing exactly enough
And never learning another thing
All is known and there is no more to seek
The trail has disappeared and so have we
We're not two now but one with the sky and tree
Walk down the trail
To see the trees stretching high
Higher it seems than the sky
Piercing the heavens they go
If only we could follow
Your hand in mine
Your eyes and my eyes
Staring up as we do together
We will see the heavens drip
Down the branches that pierce it
Reaching out to taste the galaxies
The blood of heaven on our mouths
We've doomed ourselves
By simply knowing it's taste
Inescapable that knowledge
It's like knowing exactly enough
And never learning another thing
All is known and there is no more to seek
The trail has disappeared and so have we
We're not two now but one with the sky and tree
