a (trio) of defenselessness
(i)
bloodied broken
and breathless;
coursing
with overwhelming emotion—
a heart leaps
because fighting for you
is a lifelong reward...
.... now reaped
(ii)
it's funny,
how my thoughts
s
w
i
r
l
so lost in my head's own peril
a forgotten reminder,
to coax my heart to keep beating
(iii)
the most unwanted star
shone as b r i g h t
as it could from afar
whispers within the dark
broke the poor unwanted star's heart
now, so desolate and darkened,
that lonely star...
...sadly, it shines no more.

nice construct...the star's whispering is a great image...and the swirl a nice touch. great job!
How lovely to see you! I have missed your visits so this is such a nice surprise. I thank you so much for reading and your lovely comments. I value your opinion and I'm grateful for your insights.
I also wanted to let you know that another poem of mine, (that I think came out well) , was inspired by your notes on it's original version. I credit you in the redux (or sequel if you will) via my author's note. If you need reminding. They're the the Thoughts of Icarus & Thoughts of Icarus redux poems. I really really appreciated the advice you gave me via your comments on the first, allowing the redux to blossom like it did. You influenced and motivated me to write a much better and powerful write and I truly thank you so much!
