Edge of Silence (+Reading)
You said moonlight is liquid
And now I believe and now I see
How it penetrates through
narrow crevices
It flows and flows, filling all thoughts
Icy deserts, kilometres of silence
The immense burden of
boundless freedom
Zippers zipped across the tarpaulin sky
And weak shoots pulsate in the
damp ground
I'm looking for you to hide from the
cruel wind
To win you back from cold and dark
The candle flame goes out,
but I believe in your immortality
And I will take you away from the
icy deserts
I don't want you to be alone
Immobile, helpless in these
gloomy halls,
Among the strange and
creaks and rustles
Among the alien cold, air currents
I came to steal your body from them
Reluctantly, but stubborn arrows are
moving backwards
I keep my secret, and who will believe me
But I know you’re sleeping,
you’re just sleeping too deeply
And I sneak in the dark, ignoring the
fits of fear
In endlessly cold, empty corridors
Listening tensely,
getting cold and shuddering,
Pressing against the wall at the
slightest rustle
I'll blow these walls down,
I'll break open all the doors
Having overcome all barriers,
defeating all obstacles.
I'm stronger than the cold,
you'll come back - I believe
From where there is no return
Lost in the dark depths of
mirrored surfaces
You call me through the oceans of the
full moon
A thin thread breaks,
but I believe in your immortality
And I will find you even on that
Edge of Silence ...
And now I believe and now I see
How it penetrates through
narrow crevices
It flows and flows, filling all thoughts
Icy deserts, kilometres of silence
The immense burden of
boundless freedom
Zippers zipped across the tarpaulin sky

As one slowly reads this melancholic ink so much of one's own life comes forward for reflection...darkness...but laso a little light...such a wonderful poem, Kristina...a moonlight sonata.

A reflection in the darkness with enough light to see it is the best I can hope for. A moonlight sonata is far more beautiful than I could hope for. Thank you so much for the comment. 💖 xo

Thank you so much for the comment, I suppose the best answer is that this is written from my perspective. 💖

Thank you so much for the comment and compliment, Swagger. I was ready for something bad when I read "I did hear one thing though" lol but surely the southern sky is the most beautiful. :p 💖

Dear K,
This poem has depth of feeling like the masters, Yeats, Byron, Browning, etc. For me, the pull of love is so intense it will transcend space and time. I’ve had that once. Alas, it was unrequited but it was amazing to know it was possible. I love the last line. To know there is a security and that someone will be patient to wait is profound. As for your recording, well, I think you don’t need to consider them “experimental”. Your inflection and meter are beautiful. If I had the nerve I’d ask you to record some of my written drivel just to see what it would sound like from someone else outside of the voices in my head.
Wonderful write! H🌷

Re: Re. Edge of Silence (+Audio)
You have to stop giving me such amazing comments that I struggle to respond to. :) Any mild comparison to the masters is truly wonderful for me. The gravity of true love is indeed intense and I hope you get to feel that again; I know you have a big heart and you deserve it. Thank you so much for your beautiful feedback on my experiment. :) Calling your writing drivel is like calling the Mona Lisa a caricature. I am honored that you would want me to record something. Maybe some day I will get of the nerve to extend the experiment once more. 💖 xo I appreciate your comment more than you can know.

I enjoyed reading this very much. I can see why it it was selected as a winner. It's feels like two people who were ripped from each others warmth. Your words would be the echo left behind from the moment where their touch breaks.
