Image for the poem bare

devour the soul it cries bitter tears
fearful denial in allegiance with nothingness
you're my hero
all I've ever been pales in your shadow

in the dawning hours, I feel you near
then by noontime fade
I break a little more in midnight's glare
I shatter inside when you walk away

I know I should stand on my own
because in your world there are distractions
and people who depend on you

I count your steps
in my garden of dreams, I'm yours
I will enter hell's dominion to show you how much I love you
suffer any indignation to make you believe
I won't abandon you in your time of need

I honor you above all other men
I am bound to you in this life and the next
you set me free upon the winds
I used the aether to be where you are

here I am bare of soul
tender to the touch. your touch
I'm not asking to be your everything

I'm asking to be your woman
