OPTING OUT OF OPINIONS

My Guru once said,
and I've never forgotten,
even though I thought
it was crude at the time:
"Opinions are like noses
and sooner or later people
blow them."
We've all heard that an
"Expert is someone from out of town
who can't find a job or maintain respect
back home.
Sadly, some people, perhaps writers,
more than others, live like a thermometer,
waiting for outside opinions to determine
whether they rise or fall.
YES!!!
I respect and have no issue with
the opinions of others; they are
their scared rights of expressions.
But I choose to OPT out of them relative
to allowing them power to control
my joy, determination, and freedom to
enjoy being ME. No, this doesn't mean that
I am not a lifelong learner who'll not listen
to others, BUT I am a magnet only to PROVEN
FACTS...not opinions
LIES are prisons...TRUTHS are freedom.
No, this doesn't mean that YOU
have to opt-out of opinions, the ones
your express and the ones you let guide
your life.
Isn't freedom to choose an amazing blessing?
