The Eroticism of Rosoideae

truest
dewy splendor
—a floral writhe
wetted petals
in asunder
soon to splay
bud of wonder
awash
in
permeation's bathe;
brilliant vibrant
waves
of such
heaven scented
blossoms
~
blooming
s l o w l y,
so
aching to engage

A rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae, or the flower it bears. There are over three hundred species and tens of thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing, or trailing, with stems that are often armed with sharp pickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds.

Rosoideae is a subfamily of plants in the rose family Rosaceae. These plants may be small trees, shrubs, or plants without wood. Many useful plants are in Rosoideae. Strawberries and Raspberries are two common fruits from Rosoideae. Roses are common flowers in Rosoideae.
