the vintage of summer trees
walking through the
zoo,
stopping, watching
the giraffes.
their necks stretching like
taffy to find the tree tops
to sample the most succulent
leaves vintaged by summer.
around me families smile,
laugh.
their voices kind, friendly.
their faces beautiful in
the afternoon
sunlight.
there is no perfection, but
this day is as close as
it's ever going to be.
and inside of me,
somewhere, one
single small flower
begins to
open.

I love those moments. Nothing especially exciting going on, but there is a feeling of true happiness.. For one blessed moment everything aligns.
Love this, bk.

Dear BK,
Blessed be the ordinary! Those simple moments are the most cherished. Lovely observations shared through your poem. H🌷

I call those God Days, Kitts. This is a God Poem encapsulating that feeling. I am so glad you absorbed the beauty of it.

Beautiful poem Kitty. I find that the simpler I can keep my life then the more moments like this do I have.

I agree, Harry. Too much complexity can make you lose yourself.

I'm pretty sure these are the most beautiful words I've read today ❤
