paper loves me
it does not choke
on my feelings
or blush at the strokes of my pen
it feeds on my words
absorbing them so graciously
my scribblings are seen as laughter
of love that never misses its mark
it does not question
or retaliate
it is the most accepting
friend, lover I have
even when crumpled into a ball
it forgives my mistakes
lies in wait of fresh thoughts
so patiently
without irritation
so perfectly white
and beautiful
taking every spill mercilessly
it knows my soul
better than anyone
and still remains constant
paper loves me
