There Is An Aching In My Heart
there is an aching in my heart
for a love that won't depart
this love I carry deep inside
'twas cleansed by all the tears I cried
this torch it burns both day and night
it glows with such a lovely light
though we are many miles apart
I can not heal from Cupid's dart
I have a longing deep inside
filled with a desire I must hide
the moments we once shared were real
your presence I so often feel
the fact that I can not let go
is truthfully the saddest part
all hope for us it does depart

Dear FM,
Your poem nails on the head those wretched feelings that linger long after the good bye. Why is that? It’s the worst. I’ve never figured out how to make that turn off. I wish it would be as simple as a switch. But, then maybe we’re supposed to feel this way as higher level thinkers? That’s lame. Ugh! Totally feel this write. H🌷
