Joy of Life
I've faced my demons
tamed the beast inside of me
all the while I have known
It was done through God's mercy
Everything I have today
is a blessing from the man above
I celebrate this life of joy
holding precious how I feel His love
I thank God every morning
for this new life I've received
and the chance to help my fellow man
whenever they're in need.
tamed the beast inside of me
all the while I have known
It was done through God's mercy
Everything I have today
is a blessing from the man above
I celebrate this life of joy
holding precious how I feel His love
I thank God every morning
for this new life I've received
and the chance to help my fellow man
whenever they're in need.

Thank you for your wonderful remarks! I have entered very few of the competitions here but this one has struck a chord in me. I'm too blessed to be stressed!

Dear F,
Somehow I’m always gobsmacked when I read a poem of faith and gratitude and then feel completely remiss that I didn’t stop and offer thanks before I was off and running on as many inane errands as I could think up. I’m glad for this as a reminder to be grateful first, then tea, then errands. Really beautiful write. H🌷
