In the moment

I keep coming back to it one more time
It is my rhythm, it is my rhyme

When I rose and I fell, I sank and I swam
When I breathed, breathed some more and then breathed again
That is when the joy I feel now began

I made a decision and refused to drown
I breathed in the joy of simple existance

And fear has laid down its crown

Author's Note
Again and again I find comfort in focusing on the breath, in consciously breathing. When I simply breathe, being alive is enough. I wish it were so all my life, but at least in those moments, it is.
