Where is peace?
Dissipating thoughts
Spill across the morning
Only to float away in the breeze
Before we see them
The soldier awakes in a foreign land
He smells breakfast cooking nearby
Faintly, his mother's call
Reaches his ear
" Come here son, hurry!
You'll be late for school."
The voice disintegrates
Falling into a vast chasm
The soldier looks all around
But he is surrounded
By the ghost who have gone before him
Where is mother?
Where is home?
I see a vision
Of the great mushroom cloud
Will it bring peace
From it's destruction?
The soldier trudges through
Swampy lowlands into sandy deserts
Where evil reigns alone
He carries on
Pushing bodies to the side
As he makes his way to Eden
Reaching the gate
He finds it locked
Discouraged
This is what we fought for?
An unattainable idea
Where are the keys to the garden?
The soldier puts down his gun
And falls to his knees
Crying out.....
Exhausted, he falls into the sea of bodies
And joins the ghosts
Who have called him home
Who will give us
The keys to the kingdom?
The bodies will continue to pile up
Fighting a war that cannot be won
Until we realize
Peace on Earth is a mirage
We'll have no peace until we
Leave our destructive weapons behind
Peace can't be found
With guns and tanks
Peace can't be found
With bombs and wars
Peace can't be found
Until you know what you're fighting for
Spill across the morning
Only to float away in the breeze
Before we see them
The soldier awakes in a foreign land
He smells breakfast cooking nearby
Faintly, his mother's call
Reaches his ear
" Come here son, hurry!
