Maybe
The world will be
A better place
If we could look eye to eye
If we could see each other
As equal
If we could differ
Without hating each other
Maybe
The world be at peace
If we could respect
Our differences
If we could rejoice
In our likeness
And celebrate our uniqueness
Maybe
The world will be
A more wonderful place
If we could push
Each other up
And stop pulling
Each other down
Maybe
Just maybe
Life will be better
And happier
If we could work
And walk together
Hand in hand
Towards a future
Where there is love
And peace all around
The world will be
A better place

A very beautiful desire and vision, Summer. Change begins with ourselves first—then resonates outward. My wish, much like this poem, is that all beings learn forgiveness and how to let go so the tainted part of emotions cannot destroy their inner joy and true nature of love. ❤

Gorgeous write. It feels like all these Maybe’s should be absolute’s and yet here we are. Still fighting over religion, race, economics. Dissected like this it seems futile at the same time a way to baseline a way to correct things.
