Red, White, (Black) and Blue
Increasingly volatile—
Like a volcanic eruption;
Spewing acid and bile,
Sowing seeds of corruption.
Where money trumps trees,
And birds tweet of destruction.
Ignoring desperate pleas,
To please have a discussion.
Defeated in silent attrition
By his violent conditions,
A cantankerous conniption:
"Don't riot - sign the petition!"
Pandering to the (m)asses—
Bringing guns to peaceful places;
Mucking thick, like molasses,
Spraying tear gas in their faces.
Worshipping the Oompa Loompa King,
They take advantage of the suffering;
As they listen to that rooster sing,
Instead of Martin Luther King.
Burning cities to the ground,
Guzzling guns and gasoline
To the resonating sound—
Of the screeching siren's screams.
The sins run deep into the Earth...
On the backs of others they were birthed;
And I don't mean to make a scene,
But this bloody carpet can't be steamed.
