metaphor
inside my loneliness, I ache sunflowers
sideways smiles always bring the blues
Molotov cocktails blow up in my face
you don't see me truly
gullible sin my downfall when you're near
your words cut deep into my poetry
where I bleed metaphors
so you can't see me anymore
I am a person
broke down into nothingness
do you see the woman
cut word by word
until I'm a little less
than I was before

Re. metaphor
This is just pure broken magical fragments woven into exquisite poetry. I want to pick up the pieces and help you put them back together. I see myself in this... 💖

"...I ache sunflowers"
this is the prize line for me...ripe with so much...i think it is its own poem within a poem. i see you felt anchored by it as well given the accompanying photo. as a reader i asked the questions: are you aching from being objectified, or exuding a flower that worships the sun, growing tall reaching for the sky in need of nourishment...so many places that metaphor can go.
i guess that is just what you meant by your title...? such a great building block.
that said...how powerful a metaphor can be to express and perhaps mend emotion. keep writing :)

Re: Re. metaphor
thank you graciously dearest poet you are really great at reading between the lines and getting to the heart of a metaphor...yes my ache was from being objectified to the point of only being seen in a certain manner...I deeply appreciate your thoughtful comment ❤

This is so heart touching to the depth of the soul and spirit yet sad with a very powerful message with even deeper emotions and feelings exposing the mere deepness of truth..respect dear poetess

Sometimes things are best written down then spoken out loud for always remember something's said can never be taken back once it's out there in the opening so write it down is not for them but for thyself own peace of mind..respect dear poetess and friend just some words from the wise old man😇

Just like sunflowers, the words keep coming back even when the source is cut down. They even grow on sides of highways, wherever they can. The seeds live on. It is like a prometheus story. I love how that is a metaphor for suffering being repurposed. I love the picture too :)
